The Raft

You were ridden last night
By my dark brown raft
A strong, sturdy, experienced shaft
That navigated through your canals
Went around the bends of your romantic river
Strokes beautiful and symmetrical
Kept us in an equilibrium that was beyond metaphysical
My oars were in remarkable timing
The ripples kissed and caressed your banks
So that your body was humming
My raft moving deeper in your cooling heat
You begged me to quicken my pace
Your treasures that lay hidden awaited my taste
Your voice traveled through the wind as it boarded my vessel
I heeded your calls and advanced my hustle
Soon you craved me no more
I ventured my vessel through to the inner chambers of your core
Jets of flame
Came and came
The sweetest touch you’ve had
And yes it was this cocoa-coloured raft that you blamed
